Help Animals Survive

When war knocks on a country’s door, the first push is to provide aid to its people, and that’s understandable. Pets, however, are equally vulnerable and often neglected when things get bad. Some pets are abandoned as their humans flee the war zone, stray animals and shelters are forgotten by their usual helpers, and the veterinarian clinics that remain are overwhelmed by the demand.

Our volunteers near the front lines identified a need for the support of pets in Ukraine, which led to SFSU’s “Help Animals Survive!” initiative. All funds raised are used to reduce animal suffering and are allocated in collaboration with local volunteers who are focused on animal needs in Ukraine. Donations to this fund help volunteers provide supplies, as well as rebuild assistance,  to animal shelters and veterinarian clinics operating near the front lines and in recently liberated areas.
