SFSU Team Member Spotlight: Slava
Like so many people who grew up in Ukraine and moved abroad, Slava Fedorchuk has found many ways to help his homeland and his family from afar. That’s how Slava found SFSU. “Last May, when we traveled to Poland, I was introduced to Andriy [SFSU’s founder], who was looking for people traveling to Europe to take some extra bags containing humanitarian supplies,” says Slava.
When he returned from Poland, Slava asked Andriy what else he could do for SFSU: “The next thing I know, my garage is full of donated luggage, bags and piles of humanitarian items to pack and deliver to DIA for traveling volunteers to take along to Poland, Germany and France.” These days, Slava spends most of his free time receiving, packing and coordinating the delivery of supplies and gear, as well as representing SFSU at regional events. In fact, if you’ve ever been to an SFSU event, chances are good you’ve met he, Irina and their two sons.
