Help Us Send Cars to the Front Lines

When you’re on the front lines in Ukraine, a dependable four-wheel-drive vehicle can mean the difference between life and death: Such vehicles are how volunteers get supplies to the Defenders on the front lines and they also are how Defenders evacuate the injured to somewhere they can receive medical attention.

When Defenders don’t have a vehicle, the consequences can be dire. Such was the case for Kostyantyn Ostrozki Brigade #30, which participated in the liberation of Izyum. After successfully completing their mission, they had to wait 5 hours to be evacuated; in the meantime, they carried the wounded, their ammo and gear on foot. After hearing the story, locals in Cherkasy Oblast started a fundraiser to raise money to buy an off-road vehicle for the brigade. When we heard about it, we contributed to the fundraiser which helped provide the 30th brigade with an off-road vehicle. That Hyundai Terracan saved many lives before being damaged in Bakhmut.

Over the past six months, Sunflower Seeds Ukraine also has helped deliver to Defenders a pickup and a van packed with food and protective gear. These vehicles were given to the 128th Territorial Defense Battalion in the Kharkiv region, where our former volunteer Roman Krasovskyi (who is now a unit commander at the front line) and his unit are protecting Ukrainians and the country’s sovereignty.  Intensity is a single word that characterizes the ruzzian war in Ukraine. Defenders say and historians confirm that the speed of this war it’s unlike anything seen in the World War 1 and 2 combined, and in any of the recent military campaigns. And this is why agility is the key to the victory!  Please help us Give trucks to Ukrainian Defenders - the agile 4x4 vehicles they need to do their job efficiency!

Another fundraising initiative that is underway is for a car to help “We Are United Ukraine” volunteers get supplies to the front lines.  Every 10-14 days, a team of these volunteers from the Cherkasy region makes deliveries to positions where the postal service does not go because of shelling. These brave volunteers load their van with supplies and take the necessities where help is scarce and much needed. Due to its large size and significant weight, the volunteers often get stuck while off-roading to get closer to the soldiers, a perilous situation as the road to Bakhmut is a target. Their van has been pulled out by tanks one too many times, so they are fundraising to be able to purchase a smaller and lighter vehicle they can use to shuttle supplies from the van to the soldiers’ positions. Help get supplies to the front lines by donating to the “Help Volunteers Get a Car!” campaign.

After vigorous service, most cars end up in need of repairs to keep them running for future missions. A group of volunteers in Cherkasy Oblast has taken up the challenging task of repairing and maintaining vehicles that have been purchased or donated to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This group already has fixed and sent four cars back to the front and continue to work on repairing vehicles. Mechanics are donating their labor to the cause, so most of the costs go toward purchasing parts. Help repair cars on the front lines by donating to our “Repair Cars” campaign.
