Gear donation drive was a huge success!
On Sunday, May 21, 18 Sunflower Seeds Ukraine volunteers gathered at a warehouse in Denver to pack the pallets of gear headed to Ukraine . The gear had been collected over the past two months at a number of locations, including churches, businesses and events. Thanks to generous donations by individuals, fire stations, hospitals, sporting goods stores, and surplus outlets, we had lots of work to do! By day’s end, we had packed 10 pallets high with everything including solar panels, tents, backpacks, cold-weather and rain gear, canteens, boots and medical and fire-fighting supplies. The work was done efficiently and with smiles, because we knew that everything we touched that day would be put to good use in Ukraine.
We’d like to thank the businesses who served as collection points, including: Crystal Springs Brewery; Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Louisville; Holy Family Catholic Church in Denver , Broomfield United Methodist Church, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont; the Victory Camera stores in both Boulder and Denver; the Arvada Army Navy Surplus store and Gearonimo Sports (Colorado Springs). We also would like to thank the organizations and businesses that donated supplies, including: Mountain View Fire Rescue, UC Health hospitals, Sports Plus in Denver and Quartermaster Supply in Colorado Springs.
